A Spot On Environmental & Sustainability Policy
The Company has been (since it commenced operations in 2008) and is committed to reducing its direct and indirect effect on the environment due to its cleaning operations. Further to continuous & extensive research into cleaning products, including a move towards a 100% reduction of cleaning chemicals in our methodology using advanced microfibre technology etc., we continue to dispose of ALL plastic waste via the Douglas Corporation recycling facility. The good use and maintenance of all cloths, towels & mops is encouraged to maximise usage. In addition we actively encourage our clients to use centralised waste bins, to participate in waste recycling and the reduction of single use plastic containers (such as in soap dispensers for example), recommending cheaper & better alternatives.
The Company is registered and operates fully on the Isle of Man and is not part on a non-Isle of Man Group of Companies. Both Directors and Shareholders permanently reside on the Island and have done so for many years. All employees also reside, pay Income Tax and National Insurance to the Isle of Man Government. We would maintain therefore that the more profitable the Company is the more revenue it provides to the Isle of Man Government, whilst Companies who’s organisation does not reflect ours would, without doubt, not provide the same level of income. Conversely the less it profits the less revenue it provides to the isle of Man Government. We also effectively spend our income on the Island whether it be via local businesses or the Banking Industry. Our vehicles are leased through an Isle of Man Company.
Indirectly by its high quality of cleaning methodology and standards it almost certainly reduces the chances of infection, illness and ultimately absenteeism in the workplace, thus increasing profits in local businesses and reducing costs, both directly and indirectly in Isle of Man Government Departments. We would like it noted that whilst cleaning the Isle of Man Airport (during 2019-20 during which it is universally acknowledged that the quality improved dramatically during our period of tenure) we, at our own cost, positioned and kept filled additional alcohol dispensers as well as positioning cleaning notices throughout the building to reduce the spread of the disease.
This we did until our last day on site prior to the first lock down. This is mentioned as it proves our ability and determination to mitigate health risks and ultimately reduce cost. We also ensured a true clean desk policy in all commercial/IOM Government locations during this Pandemic emergency as part of our Health & Safety protocol.
We, without doubt, kept the Island running, in conjunction with the various Government services which otherwise would have faced economic disaster. We would challenge any other cleaning company to say that. Through our high standards of Hygiene and method of Operations we have a very low rate of sickness (we not pay sick pay so it falls on Government), especially during the lock down periods of the Pandemic Emergency.
The Company purchases 99% of all its cleaning products and equipment from Isle of Man Traders and therefore indirectly provides additional income to Isle of Man Government. Helping keep the Manx ecomomy running.
